Vacation Bible School is a popular week-long program held during the summer and is open to all children in the community.

The Church Kindergarten

The Church Kindergarten has been a valuable service to our community for 52 years. Although preference is given to children from families who are members of Grace Episcopal Church, the kindergarten is for all children from the community who are aged 2, 3, and 4 years. The curriculum includes music, a daily church service and occasional field trips in Camden and points beyond, as well as the usual learning and play activities. Capacity is 40 students. The students are home each day in time for lunch. The fee based, competitive, co-educational preschool is run by a six-member board of directors, elected by the Grace Church Vestry. There is a full time, paid director of Kindergarten activities and the Rector conducts a "big church" experience for the children once a week.

The Nursery

The Nursery is located in Richardson Hall and opens each Sunday at 9:20 a.m. for Sunday School and closes at the end of the 10:30 a.m. service. Children between infancy and the age of five are welcome.

The Spring Dog Show

The Spring Dog Show is held annually in Rectory Square. This event is a project of the EYC and has taken place in Camden since 1937. It is open to all members of the community and their pets. Awards are given for a variety of purebred dog classes. The Children's Handling Class allows children to demonstrate their ability to show a dog. In addition to these more traditional awards, there are several fun classes such as Tricks and the Mutt Class. Proceeds from this are traditionally given to a local charity.

Camp Gravatt

Camp Gravatt is the diocesan summer children's camp located near Aiken, SC. It offers summer camp sessions for boys and girls who are rising 2nd graders through rising 9th graders. There is also a Senior High Retreat Experience for rising 10th graders through college freshmen. Camp Gravatt has always been a favorite place for the youth of the parish and the community to attend or work as staff members. Scholarship funds are available.

EYC

EYC Senior and Junior High groups have met with varied success over the years. Activities and outings are announced in advance in both "The Evangel" and the regular Sunday bulletin. EYC is considered to be a high priority for development in our parish. Currently it is led by several young couples.

The Happening Experience

The Happening Experience is a powerful weekend of renewal held at Camp Gravatt for youth in grades 10 through 12. Its aim is to concentrate closely on the Person and teachings of Jesus Christ. Happening gives those who attend the desire to understand and serve the Church. The youth share with one another through talks, discussions, prayer, worship, and play, the importance of love and life in the Lord. Throughout the years, Grace Church has had many parishioners participate in Happening weekends both as candidates and staff.
